The Other Side – Short Film

Role: Producer

I produced an award winning short film, The Other Side in Ethiopia. This film features Emmy nominated actor Ethan Herisse from Ava DuVernay’s Netflix mini-series, When They See Us. It also features my friend, Grammy nominated singer, Wayna.

I was involved in all aspects of the production from casting, location scouting, permitting, and managing an all-Ethiopian crew.

Synopsis: Set against the Ethiopian abandoned children crisis, two orphan brothers are faced with the reality of never being adopted. Days before his 18th birthday, Abel (Ethan Herisse, When They See Us) finds himself about to graduate his orphanage and leave his younger brother, Kiya, behind. But when a prospective adopting couple threatens to break their relationship apart, the brothers wrestle with waiting for a dream that may never be fulfilled.
